Six nations have officially booked their place in the quarter-final stage of the ongoing 2025 Africa U-20 Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Egypt, following the conclusion of Thursday’s group stage matches.
Senegal secured qualification with a 2-0 victory over DR Congo, while Ghana edged past the Central African Republic with a narrow 1-0 win. Nigeria’s Flying Eagles had earlier played out a 2-2 draw against Kenya on Wednesday.
In another key fixture, Morocco outclassed regional rivals Tunisia with a 3-1 triumph to seal their spot in the last eight.
As it stands, the six teams confirmed for the quarter-finals are Nigeria, Senegal, Morocco, Ghana, Sierra Leone, and DR Congo.

The remaining two quarter-final spots will be decided on Friday, with host nation Egypt taking on Tanzania, and South Africa set to face Zambia. Winners from both encounters will complete the final eight.
The quarter-final stage is scheduled to kick off on Monday.
