In a move reinforcing Abia State’s commitment to developing its creative economy, the Special Assistant to the Governor on Arts, Culture, and Creative Economy, Hon. Mrs. Matilda Chinonyerem Anyamele, on Thursday received the creative team behind the proposed Aba Made film project in her office at the Government House, Umuahia.
The delegation, led by the project’s producer, Mr. Francis N. Ifeakandu, briefed Mrs. Anyamele on the objectives of the film, officially titled Chronicles of Enyimba. According to Ifeakandu, the project aims to showcase the history, growth, and socio-economic evolution of Aba, Abia State’s commercial hub.

He revealed that the film will be a four-season series comprising over 40 episodes and featuring more than 2,000 cast members, with a focus on discovering and nurturing local talents.
Scheduled for an official flag-off on November 14, 2025, by Governor Alex Chioma Otti, OFR—who also serves as the project’s Brand Ambassador—the Aba Made film seeks to tell the story of Aba “before the ruins and during its recovery,” highlighting the city’s resilience and the ongoing developmental strides under Governor Otti’s administration.

The production team disclosed that the project has completed its pre-production stages, including research and script conferences, and will commence filming immediately after the official launch. They expressed optimism that the project will not only project Aba’s image positively but also attract investment, boost tourism, and generate revenue for the state.
In her response, Hon. Anyamele commended the initiative, pledging her office’s full support for the success of the project. She assured the delegation of the state’s cooperation and encouraged indigenous artists to seize such opportunities for skill development and storytelling that authentically represent Abia’s heritage.
Those present during the visit included veteran actor Paul U. U. Udonsi, screenwriter Ebere Iheanacho, logistics manager David Amalagha, media manager Ifeanyi Emmanuel, project coordinator Okey Iboko, and welfare manager Chidinma Okpara.

Joining virtually were Dr. Prospect Nlemchukwu (Technical Director, USA), Prof. Molinta Enendu (Project Designer), and Prof. Uche Uwaoma Uche (Script Analyst and Media Consultant).
