Suspended Senator representing Kogi Central, Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, has declared her intention to return to the Senate on Tuesday, July 22, in defiance of her ongoing suspension.
Speaking during a training programme in her constituency on Saturday, Akpoti-Uduaghan stated that her decision is backed by a ruling from the Federal High Court in Abuja. She confirmed that she has formally notified the Senate of her planned resumption.
“The court has given a decision on the matter,” she said. “I’ve written again to the Senate to inform them that I will resume on Tuesday, the 22nd of July, by the special grace of God.”

She lamented that the suspension had prevented her from carrying out her legislative responsibilities and noted she still has roughly two months remaining in her six-month suspension period. Despite ongoing controversy surrounding the court’s ruling, she maintained that her return is lawful.
