The Rector of Ogbonnaya Onu Polytechnic, Dr. Okoro, has announced that the institution has commenced the payment of entitlements to all staff members dismissed under the previous administration.
Speaking to journalists in Umuahia, Dr. Okoro explained that the move aligns with the directive of His Excellency, the Governor, who had instructed that all affected workers be fully compensated.
“His Excellency is very intentional about the welfare of every citizen who has contributed to the development of the state,” Dr. Okoro stated. “This administration is committed to ensuring that Ogbonnaya Onu Polytechnic becomes one of the top institutions in the country.”
He further affirmed his commitment to building on the improvements already achieved under the current administration, noting that the governor continues to provide robust support to ensure the institution’s sustained growth and excellence.
Addressing academic standards, Dr. Okoro urged students to focus on their studies and avoid activities that could hinder their academic performance. He emphasized that maintaining discipline and academic rigor is key to the school’s vision.
Dr. Okoro also highlighted that the introduction of new courses has significantly boosted student enrollment and interest in the institution. He reiterated that the administration remains focused on enhancing the quality of education, improving learning conditions, and prioritizing the welfare of both academic and non-academic staff.
