Senator Mohammed Ali Ndume has described President Bola Tinubu’s decision to retain Vice President Kashim Shettima as his running mate for the 2027 presidential election as a major boost to the All Progressives Congress (APC)’s electoral prospects.

Ndume made the remarks after visiting Vice President Shettima to congratulate him on his re-emergence as the party’s vice-presidential candidate. He said the decision reflects President Tinubu’s confidence in Shettima’s leadership, loyalty, and contributions to the administration.

According to the Borno South senator, Shettima has consistently demonstrated commitment to national service and the ideals of the APC, making him a dependable partner whose political experience and influence will strengthen the party’s campaign ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Ndume also commended President Tinubu for maintaining continuity in the party’s presidential ticket, expressing confidence that the Tinubu-Shettima team is well-positioned to consolidate the achievements of the current administration while presenting a strong case to Nigerian voters.

He noted that the combination of Tinubu’s leadership and Shettima’s political experience provides the APC with a solid platform as preparations for the 2027 elections gather momentum.

The endorsement comes amid growing political activities and realignments ahead of the next general election, with parties intensifying consultations and strategic planning in anticipation of the polls.
