The Saint Anthony’s College of Nursing Science Aba on Monday July 14, held its maiden SUG Election Manifesto for aspiring contestants.
The manifesto which was held at the school campus, inside the premises of St. Anthony’s Hospital, Aba had a total of 37 contestants.

In her speech, the school provost, Dr Nwokoro Roseline Oluchi, says the event affords the students the opportunity to build a union that will truly represent them.
She says having a student union helps to develop spiritual and ethical values of the students, Develop national awareness among students and accustom them to leadership, and also enable them to express their opinions responsibly.
She encouraged the contestants to keep to the promises in their manifesto when elected and remain exemplary as the school’s students representative.
She further urged the students who will be voting to choose those who will represent them well and neglect voting out of sentiment.
Also Speaking, the Students liaison officer, Mrs Okereke Edith, reminded the aspirants and the students of the need to always liaise with her in their issues.

She assures that her office is always open to accommodate them and promises that issues affecting them will be promptly taken to the school management for immediate attention.
Speaking earlier, the chairman of St. Anthony’s College of Nursing Science Independent Students Electoral Commission (SACONSISEC), Amaraihu Chidiebere Luke, assures of a smooth and transparent Election built on integrity.

He announced that the election will be held on Wednesday 16th July, 2024 at the school premises.
The manifesto lived up to its competitive billing as the 37 aspirants unveiled their plans and sought the votes of their fellow students.
The event was witnessed by the school Director, Ogbuefi Princess Laura Nzeribe, Observers including the school external invigilator, Dr Kate Ufere and gentlemen of the press.
