Former Assistant National Secretary of the Actors Guild of Nigeria, Stanley Mba, has applauded Abia State Governor, Dr. Alex Otti, for recognizing the contributions of Highlife music legend, Chief Paulson, to Nigeria’s cultural and entertainment landscape.

In a statement issued to the press, Mba lauded the governor for, in his words, “demonstrating uncommon commitment to the promotion of Nigerian culture and the creative industry.” He described the honour accorded to Chief Paulson as both timely and well-deserved.
“I am thrilled to see Governor Otti honouring Chief Paulson, a man I call father, a legend of Highlife music for his dedication and service to the industry,” Mba said, noting that the gesture reflects the governor’s appreciation of the country’s artistic heritage.
Governor Otti had earlier unveiled plans to celebrate Chief Paulson’s 80th birthday alongside other distinguished personalities, as part of his administration’s policy to acknowledge exceptional Nigerians whose work has enriched society.
Mba, a seasoned broadcaster and filmmaker who has served multiple terms as chairman of the Actors Guild of Nigeria in Abia State, also congratulated Chief Paulson on the honour, praying for continued strength and good health for the veteran musician.

The event, held in Umuahia, attracted top figures from the entertainment sector, government officials, family members, and admirers of Highlife music, all gathered to celebrate the life and legacy of Chief Paulson.
