In a nation where decent housing remains out of reach for millions, the sight of widows holding new house keys and orphans playing in freshly painted compounds seems almost miraculous. Yet, for many in Rivers State, this miracle bears a familiar name — Omega Power Ministries (OPM) and its founder, HRM King Apostle Dr. Chibuzor Gift Chinyere.
While many organizations speak of “affordable housing,” OPM has taken the concept a step further. Here, there are no mortgages, rent agreements, or hidden fees. Instead, the ministry builds entire housing estates — complete with electricity, water supply, and furnishings — and hands them over free of charge to society’s most vulnerable: widows, orphans, ex-prisoners, and the homeless.

A Roof Over Every Head
Across Nigeria’s major cities, housing insecurity remains one of the country’s most pressing but least discussed crises. Rent continues to rise as incomes stagnate, leaving countless families on the edge. Widows face eviction, orphans drift between relatives, and the jobless are forced to find shelter under bridges.
It was this reality that inspired the OPM Free Estate project — a vision born from compassion and executed through faith. From Port Harcourt to Abia and beyond, the ministry has built communities where families once living in despair now find stability and hope.
Each home tells a story — of redemption, resilience, and restoration. Women who once begged for shelter now sleep peacefully behind their own locked doors, free from the fear of eviction. Beyond providing housing, the initiative restores dignity and reminds its beneficiaries that poverty does not define their value.

Faith in Action
For Apostle Chinyere, the Free Estate project is more than a humanitarian gesture; it is a divine calling rooted in scripture. His inspiration flows from passages such as Isaiah 32:18 — “And my people shall dwell in a peaceable habitation, and in sure dwellings, and in quiet resting places” — and Psalm 68:5-6, which describes God as “a father to the fatherless and a defender of widows.”
To him, these words are not poetic ideals but practical blueprints. OPM’s work demonstrates a faith that builds, feeds, educates, and shelters — a faith that manifests love not just in sermons, but in cement, roofing sheets, and keys handed to new homeowners.

A Living Legacy
Today, OPM’s Free Housing Estates stand as living monuments to what can happen when conviction meets compassion. Each estate is a symbol of transformation — not only of land and buildings but of lives and futures.
As Apostle Chinyere’s birthday draws near, hundreds of beneficiaries see themselves as part of his legacy. Their gratitude is expressed not in words alone, but in the laughter of children who now sleep safely indoors and the quiet prayers of widows who no longer fear tomorrow.

In a society often defined by inequality, the OPM Free Estate project offers a different narrative — one where faith meets action and generosity becomes a foundation for lasting change.
For many, it is proof that the greatest sermons are not always preached from pulpits — sometimes, they are built with open hands and compassionate hearts.
