Nigerian Afrobeats superstar Davido has been confirmed as one of the headline performers for FIFA’s World Cup 2026 Countdown Concert scheduled to take place in Los Angeles, United States, on June 10.

FIFA announced the development on Tuesday as part of activities leading up to the commencement of the expanded 2026 FIFA World Cup, which will be jointly hosted by the United States, Canada, and Mexico. The concert series is designed to build excitement ahead of the tournament and celebrate the unifying power of football, music, and culture.

According to FIFA, Davido will share the stage with Major Lazer, the globally acclaimed music project led by American DJ and producer Diplo, during the Los Angeles leg of the multi-city concert series. Additional performers are expected to be announced in the coming days.

The event forms part of a first-of-its-kind synchronized live entertainment experience that will connect audiences across the three host nations. Concerts will be held simultaneously in Los Angeles, Toronto, and Mexico City, showcasing internationally renowned artists while celebrating the cultural diversity of the countries hosting the tournament.

The Los Angeles concert will take place at the iconic Crypto.com Arena and will be broadcast globally through FIFA’s digital and broadcast platforms, including a live stream on FIFA’s TikTok channels.

Davido’s inclusion further highlights the growing global influence of Afrobeats and Nigeria’s expanding presence on major international entertainment stages ahead of what FIFA describes as the largest World Cup in history.
