Nigeria’s Super Eagles delivered a commanding performance on Saturday, defeating Jamaica 3-0 in the Unity Cup final to successfully defend their title and extend their dominance in the competition.

The match saw Nigeria take control from the opening minutes. Midfielder Alhassan Yusuf opened the scoring just three minutes into the game with a composed finish, giving the Super Eagles the perfect start.

Jamaica struggled to cope with Nigeria’s intensity and attacking threat throughout the contest. After maintaining their advantage into halftime, the Super Eagles doubled their lead in the second half when striker Terem Moffi powered home a header from a precise cross by Femi Azeez.

As Jamaica pushed forward in search of a response, Nigeria remained in control and continued to create chances. Their dominance was rewarded in stoppage time when Yusuf grabbed his second goal of the evening after being set up by Philip Otele, sealing an emphatic 3-0 victory.

The triumph marks another milestone for head coach Eric Chelle and his squad, who successfully defended the Unity Cup title they won in 2025. It also reinforces Nigeria’s remarkable record in the tournament, having now won all four editions of the competition since its inception in 2002.

Earlier in the tournament, Nigeria defeated Zimbabwe to reach the final, while Jamaica secured their place after overcoming India. The latest victory further highlights the Super Eagles’ growing momentum as they continue to build confidence ahead of future international competitions.

With a solid defensive display, clinical finishing, and standout performances from Yusuf and Moffi, Nigeria once again proved why they remain the team to beat in the Unity Cup.
