Industrial stakeholders in the Owerri Nta/Ukwa feeder area are welcoming a transformative development with the launch of the Dedicated Ukwa 33kV Industrial Line, a project spearheaded by Geometric Power. This initiative aims to provide a stable and reliable power supply to businesses in Aba, marking a significant step toward addressing longstanding energy challenges in the region.

The new 33kV line will draw direct power from Geometric Power Aba Limited (GPAL), ensuring uninterrupted electricity for industrial and commercial enterprises in Aba. Speaking at the launch event, Prof. Bart Nnaji, Chairman of Geometric Power, emphasized the company’s commitment to fulfilling its mandate. “This project is a deliberate effort to honor our pledge to the industrious business community of Aba,” he stated. “It underscores our vision to position Aba as a regional power hub.”
Business leaders have hailed the initiative as a game-changer. Ume Ude, CEO of Blue World Pharmaceuticals, highlighted the critical role of power in driving economic activity: “Electricity is the heartbeat of any business. This line will empower industries to operate efficiently, fostering growth and competitiveness.”

The project is being executed by Divine Point Group, whose Managing Director/CEO assured stakeholders of timely delivery. “We are committed to completing the construction within 90 days, weather permitting,” they stated, emphasizing the team’s focus on quality and adherence to timelines.
The launch comes one year after the commissioning of Geometric Power’s plant by Nigeria’s Vice President, Kashim Shettima. Barr. Ugo Opiegbe, Managing Director of Aba Power, noted that the new line will alleviate pressure on existing infrastructure, freeing up capacity to serve non-Maximum Demand customers. “This is a strategic move to enhance power availability and reliability across the region,” he added.

Geometric Power continues to make strides in its mission to revolutionize the power sector in Southeast Nigeria. With the Dedicated Ukwa 33kV Industrial Line, the company is not only addressing immediate energy needs but also laying the groundwork for sustained industrial growth. By prioritizing dedicated infrastructure for businesses, Geometric Power is reinforcing Aba’s position as a key economic driver in the region.
As the project progresses, stakeholders remain optimistic about its impact on job creation, productivity, and the broader economic landscape of Aba and the surrounding areas.
