President Bola Tinubu left Abuja today, September 4, to begin his 2025 annual leave—a working vacation to be spent between France and the United Kingdom. According to presidential spokesperson Bayo Onanuga, the break will span 10 working days.

This marks Tinubu’s first official leave of the year.  His departure follows a recent two-week trip to Japan and Brazil in August, where he attended the Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD9) in Yokohama, held bilateral meetings with Japanese investors, and subsequently embarked on a state visit to Brazil, during which several high-profile agreements were secured—including plans for Petrobras’s return, a Lagos–São Paulo flight route, and an Embraer service center.

Travel Frequency This Year

According to tracking by The ICIR, President Tinubu has made six international trips so far in 2025.  Overall, since his inauguration in 2023, he has embarked on at least 38 foreign trips.
