The Minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu, has said the Federal Government is taking steps to address persistent gas supply challenges affecting electricity generation in the country.
Adelabu stated this in a message to Nigerians, expressing optimism that ongoing interventions would lead to improved power supply in the near future.
According to him, the government has begun implementing measures aimed at ensuring more reliable and sustainable electricity for homes, businesses and industries.
“The reforms initiated by President Bola Tinubu are beginning to take root, and Nigerians will soon witness the full benefits,” the minister said.
Nigeria’s power sector has continued to face challenges largely due to inadequate gas supply to thermal power plants, which account for a significant share of electricity generation.
Recent data from industry operators indicate that gas constraints have contributed to reduced output on the national grid, resulting in intermittent electricity supply across the country.
Adelabu, however, assured that the current administration remains committed to reforms in the power sector, adding that sustained efforts are being made to attract investment and improve infrastructure.
He also called on Nigerians to support government policies and remain patient as the reforms progress.
The minister noted that collective cooperation and sustained commitment would be required to achieve long-term stability in the electricity sector.
