Abia State Governor, Alex Otti, has declared that the Labour Party (LP) has emerged stronger and more united following its recent internal crisis, affirming that the party is on course to field a formidable presidential candidate ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Otti made the assertion while addressing party stakeholders, noting that the challenges faced by the party had ultimately reinforced its internal structures and cohesion.
According to him, rather than weaken the party, the crisis served as a test of resilience, helping to reposition the LP as a more focused and formidable political force.
“The Labour Party today is stronger than it was before the crisis. We have learnt our lessons, and we are better organized to move forward,” Otti said.

The governor expressed confidence that the LP would not only present a credible presidential candidate in 2027 but would also play a decisive role in shaping the political direction of the country.
Otti further called on party members and supporters to remain steadfast and united, emphasizing that cohesion within the party would be critical to its success in future elections.
He reiterated the party’s commitment to good governance, accountability, and people-centered policies, noting that these principles would continue to guide its strategy as preparations for the 2027 polls gather momentum.
