The Abia State Government has taken a bold step into the digital age by automating ticket sales for Enyimba FC and Abia Warriors’ home games.
Through a partnership between the Board of Internal Revenue (BIR) and Bemssoft Hub Ltd, fans can now purchase match tickets online via the Smartairs platform: https://payabia.smartairs.tax/sport.
Dr. Pastra Etie, Group Managing Director of Bemssoft Hub Ltd, explained that the goal is to make the experience stress-free and fully digital:
“Abians can now use their phones, check fixtures, buy tickets, and gain stadium access in less than 60 seconds. No more hustling at the gates. This is the 21st-century model of fan convenience.”
How It Works
- Fans can buy multiple tickets from their phones.
- E-tickets arrive instantly via SMS.
- Simply present the SMS at the stadium gate for entry.
- VIP and gift-ticket options are also available.
- Payments can be made via bank transfers, USSD, or through stadium agents who will print tickets in real time.
Dr. Etie added that more incentives are on the way, including fan prizes and halftime performances. He also acknowledged minor hitches during Enyimba’s recent home game against Nasarawa United but assured fans of improved services and more terminals going forward.
With this digital transformation, the government says it isn’t just modernizing sports ticketing—it’s also boosting internally generated revenue (IGR) across the state.
