Two support groups, the Isiala Ngwa South Grace Movement and Atuma Grace Farmers, have passed a vote of confidence in Hon. Emeka Atuma, endorsing him as their preferred candidate for the Abia Central Senatorial District seat in the 2027 general elections.
The groups announced their position during a solidarity visit to Atuma at his country home, Ntalakwu, known as the Castle of Grace.
The delegation was led by Emeka Oguns, founder and coordinator of Grace Farmers. Members of the groups pledged their support for Atuma’s senatorial ambition, promising to mobilise bloc votes for him and protect their votes during the elections.
Speaking during the visit, the Director of Women Affairs of the Atuma Grace/Kabila Movement, Mrs Gift Chinyere Njoku, popularly known as Olaedo, urged the various support groups to embrace unity and avoid bitterness, hatred and division.
She said a common commitment to their principal and mutual respect among supporters would strengthen the movement and improve its chances of achieving its political objectives.
Njoku emphasised that cohesion among the groups was essential to sustaining the momentum behind Atuma’s candidacy ahead of the 2027 elections.
Responding, Atuma expressed appreciation for the delegation’s show of solidarity and confidence in his ambition, describing their support as a source of renewed hope.
He urged members of the groups to remain steadfast, united and committed to their shared political aspirations.
Using a broom as an illustration, the former lawmaker demonstrated the strength that comes from unity, noting that individual sticks could be broken more easily than a bundle bound together.
Atuma also assured the delegation that his relationship with them extended beyond politics, stressing that the friendship and bonds they had built over the years remained important to him.
The visit featured songs and prayers for God’s protection, mercy, grace and success in the forthcoming general elections.
