Former Galatasaray forward Necati Ateş has criticised Victor Osimhen over his body language, claiming the Nigerian striker appears to change his attitude when he fails to score.

Ateş made the remarks while analysing Galatasaray’s recent performances on the Turkish YouTube programme Spor Gecesi Digital, where he discussed the team’s attacking options and individual players.

According to the former striker, Osimhen’s desire to score in every match could affect his reactions and decision-making during games.

“I don’t like Osimhen’s body language. When Osimhen can’t score, he switches to another version because he feeds on goals,” Ateş said.

The former Galatasaray player also questioned Osimhen’s decision-making in an attacking situation, arguing that the forward could have passed to a teammate in a better position to score.

Ateş referenced a chance involving Osimhen and Deniz Gül, suggesting that the Nigerian could have made a different choice rather than attempting to finish the move himself.

He stressed that his criticism was not necessarily an accusation of deliberate selfishness but a concern about the striker’s choices in front of goal.

Osimhen has remained a key figure in Galatasaray’s attack since joining the Turkish champions, with his goalscoring ability and aggressive playing style making him an important part of the team.

However, his performances and reactions during matches have occasionally generated debate among Turkish football analysts and supporters.

The criticism comes amid continued scrutiny of Galatasaray’s attacking combinations and how the team’s forwards work together to create scoring opportunities.

Osimhen, who also leads Nigeria’s attack at international level, will be expected to respond on the pitch as Galatasaray continue their domestic and European campaigns.
