Dr. Mustapha Abdullahi Elected President of NBBF in Unopposed Victory
ABUJA — Dr. Mustapha Abdullahi has been officially elected as the new President of the Nigeria Basketball Federation (NBBF) following a smooth election process marked by minimal opposition.
Abdullahi secured a seamless victory after nearly all competing candidates were either disqualified or voluntarily withdrew from the race, citing various procedural and personal reasons.
Joining him at the helm of Nigerian basketball administration is Ugo Udezue, who emerged as the new Vice President of the Federation. Prior to his election as Vice President, Udezue successfully secured his re-election as the South-East representative on the NBBF board.
The newly constituted board also features a complete lineup of regional representatives across the country:
- North-Central: Dr. Mustapha Abdullahi
- South-East: Ugo Udezue
- South-South: Fubara Fobika
- South-West: Babatunde Oguntade
- North-East: Yusuf Surajo
- North-West: Abubakar Abba Kaka
With the executive leadership and zonal representatives now firmly in place, the new board is set to lead the administration and growth of basketball across Nigeria.
