Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma has declared that the All Progressives Congress (APC) has no excuse to lose the 2027 general elections, insisting that he will be on the ballot.
Uzodimma made the remarks as party leaders gathered in Abuja on Wednesday for the inauguration of the APC Presidential Campaign Council ahead of the elections.
The governor, who chairs the Progressive Governors Forum, urged party members to put aside internal disagreements and unite behind the party’s candidates.
He said the APC must approach the forthcoming elections with a common purpose, stressing the need for effective coordination among party leaders and grassroots structures.
“We must reconcile any differences we may have and rally as one family behind the party and all our candidates. We must speak to Nigerians as one family with one voice and one message,” Uzodimma said.
He also called on party stakeholders to take responsibility for mobilising voters in their respective states, constituencies and polling units.
The governor maintained that the APC should focus on communicating the achievements of President Bola Tinubu’s administration to Nigerians as part of its preparations for the 2027 elections.
He cited the administration’s economic reforms, infrastructure projects and social intervention programmes as areas the party could highlight during its campaign.
Uzodimma further urged Tinubu to remain focused on governance while campaign officials handle the political mobilisation required ahead of the elections.
The APC Presidential Campaign Council is expected to coordinate the party’s national campaign strategy and grassroots engagement as Tinubu seeks another term in office.
The inauguration marks a key stage in the ruling party’s preparations for the 2027 general elections.
