President Bola Tinubu will on Wednesday inaugurate the All Progressives Congress Presidential Campaign Council ahead of the 2027 general elections, with Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Benjamin Kalu, included in the updated list of members.
The inauguration is scheduled for 11 a.m. at the Banquet Hall of the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
Kalu is listed as Deputy Director-General (South) II in the updated document, following the omission of his name from the initial list released for the inauguration.
His inclusion places the Deputy Speaker among the party officials assigned roles in coordinating its campaign activities ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
Former Zamfara State Governor, Senator Abdulaziz Yari, will serve as Director-General of the council, while Imo State Governor, Senator Hope Uzodimma, is listed as secretary.
Tinubu will chair the council, with Vice President Kashim Shettima and APC National Chairman, Professor Nentawe Yilwatda, serving as vice chairmen.
Senate President Godswill Akpabio and Speaker of the House of Representatives, Tajudeen Abbas, are also listed as deputy director-generals.
The council is expected to oversee the party’s mobilisation, public engagement and campaign coordination ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The inauguration comes ahead of the APC’s planned campaign rally in Kaduna on October 24, which is expected to mark the commencement of its broader campaign activities.
