Abia Warriors Football Club of Umuahia is set to trade tackles with Kwara United Football Club of Ilorin, in a highly anticipated Matchday 27 fixture of the Nigeria Premier Football League.

The stage is set and the iconic Enyimba International Stadium Aba, is the battle ground as the Warriors, fueled by the energy of their increasing number of fans, are poised to make a statement and bring their continental aspirations back on track.

It is not yet Uhuru for Umu Chineke, though, after going three home games without a win, a development that has left their fans anxious. Notwithstanding, their away draw against the reigning league champions, Remo Stars FC, in their last outing, has re-ignited hope and renewed determination amongst the players in the buildup to the game against the Harmony Boys.

Definitely, it is going to be a tough tie for the Warriors as their troubled opponents will come fighting to forestall dropping further points, given their precarious position, which makes them even more dangerous.

But the irresistible aroma of continental football has sparked a hunger for victory on Umu Chineke, and the realization that they can take a significant step towards securing that ticket has fueled a rage of determination to emerge victorious.

As the Warriors match into battle on Sunday, they will definitely draw inspiration from their resilient performance against the league champions and channel that energy into a winning performance.

The Warriors have averaged 0.81 goals (scored) per game and 0.69 goals conceded, whereas Kwara United has also averaged 0.81 goals (scored) but 0.92 goals conceded.

After 26 NPFL matches played, the Umuahia warlords are in 5th position on the 20-team league table with 40 points, while the Harmony Boys are in 16th position with 29 points for now, pending when the league organisers’ point deduction comes into effect.
