The Abia State Environmental Protection Agency (ASEPA) has issued a public notice warning residents of Aba about counterfeit waste buckets currently in circulation across the city.

According to ASEPA, the agency’s authentic buckets can only be purchased through official channels — either from approved vendors operating with ASEPA-branded tricycles or buses, or directly at the ASEPA office located at No. 9 Ikot Ekpene Road, Aba (opposite Aba Power).

The agency cautioned residents not to fall victim to street urchins posing as vendors, stressing that such fraudulent practices belong to the past. ASEPA emphasized that the original waste buckets remain priced at ₦6,500 with no extra charges.

Reiterating the government’s commitment to a cleaner city, the Deputy General Manager of ASEPA Elder Okezie Ezengwa urged Aba residents to play their part by:

• Purchasing only the original ASEPA waste buckets.
• Paying their sanitation levy promptly.
• Supporting the state’s sanitation drive.

He further highlighted that these efforts are crucial in sustaining the remarkable strides of Governor Alex Otti’s administration in keeping Abia clean and sparkling.
