Hon. Ceekay Igara, National Vice Chairman (South East) of the Labour Party, has called on Nigerians to embrace hope, unity, and faith in the face of ongoing national challenges, as Christians across the country mark the Easter celebration.
In an Easter message made available to journalists, Igara described the season as a powerful reminder of sacrifice, redemption, and victory over adversity, drawing from the resurrection of Jesus Christ as the foundation of the Christian faith.
He noted that Easter symbolises the triumph of life over death and light over darkness, stressing that the message of the resurrection offers assurance that no situation is beyond divine intervention.
The Labour Party stalwart, however, expressed concern over the state of the nation, particularly the impact of insecurity and violence on families and communities. He extended condolences to victims of insurgency and other forms of unrest, acknowledging the depth of loss experienced across various parts of the country.
Igara said despite the prevailing difficulties, Nigerians must remain steadfast, insisting that the nation would overcome its current trials. He emphasised that the resurrection story reflects the certainty of victory even in the darkest moments.
He further offered prayers for divine protection, healing, and restoration for citizens, urging Nigerians to hold on to faith and remain hopeful for a better future.
Addressing members of the Labour Party, Igara encouraged unity and resilience within the fold, noting that the party would emerge stronger despite internal and external challenges. He expressed optimism that the current period would usher in renewed leadership, clarity of purpose, and greater cohesion.
The party chieftain also called on Nigerians to embrace compassion and collective responsibility, adding that national progress would require shared commitment and unity of purpose.
He concluded by wishing Christians a peaceful Easter celebration, expressing hope that the season would bring renewed strength, testimonies, and a fresh sense of direction for individuals and the nation at large.
