Victor Osimhen’s loan spell at Galatasaray officially ended on July 1, 2025. The Nigerian striker, who helped Galatasaray win the Turkish Super League and Ziraat Turkish Cup with 37 goals and 8 assists, is set to return to Napoli for medical checks ahead of pre-season.
However, Napoli’s head coach, Antonio Conte, has reportedly decided that Osimhen will not rejoin the senior team. Instead, he has been demoted to train with the youth squad to maintain fitness as he awaits a permanent transfer.
Osimhen has been in talks with Saudi side Al-Hilal and Galatasaray. While Al-Hilal reportedly offered up to €45 million per season, he turned it down, and Galatasaray’s €26 million bid remains undecided. Currently, he is on vacation in Nigeria and taking time away from transfer discussions.

Osimhen is expected to report back to Napoli on July 14 for routine medical checks. The team will train in Dimaro from July 17–27 and then Castel di Sangro from July 30. If Osimhen has not transferred by then, he will face an awkward return, training outside the main squad and excluded from tactical sessions.
This echoes last summer, when he also trained separately after pushing for a move. Coach Conte, who initially wanted to work with Osimhen, later regretted how things unfolded, saying:
“Perhaps if we had resolved the Osimhen situation, we would have completed the team differently. I’m sorry for Osimhen.”
Despite the sidelining, Osimhen remains unbothered by the ongoing Napoli transfer saga.
