The Cosmetics All Stars of Aba on Sunday held a novelty football match to honour outgoing chairman John Kennedy and officially inaugurate the new chairman, Victor Emenalo, at the Dr. Ogbonnaya Onu Polytechnic.

The entertaining encounter saw Team John Kennedy race into an early lead as Emeka Nwanna opened the scoring in the first minute before adding his second goal in the 45th minute to hand his side a comfortable 2-0 advantage at halftime.

The second half, however, belonged largely to Team Victor Emenalo, who mounted sustained pressure in search of a comeback. Their efforts paid off when Nnaemeka Okpara capitalized on a one-on-one opportunity to reduce the deficit.

With momentum swinging in their favour, Team Victor Emenalo eventually found the equalizer in the 78th minute through Totti, ensuring the keenly contested match ended in a 2-2 draw.

Following the novelty game, attention shifted to the formal inauguration ceremony, where Victor Emenalo and his executive members were officially unveiled.

Speaking with journalists after the event, Emenalo pledged to build on the achievements of his predecessor and take the association to greater heights.

Outgoing chairman John Kennedy expressed gratitude to members of the association for the opportunity to serve. He also prayed for the success of the new leadership, expressing confidence that the organization would continue to grow under Emenalo’s administration.
