The agitating fans sited the club’s poor performance in the league as their reason, another fan stated that never in the history of Enyimba FC have the club sit at the 14th position after 26 round of games in the Nigeria Premier football League
A fan who pleaded for anonymity stated that the former Super Eagles captain and legend does not understand what Enyimba means to Aba people, he even went further to question Kanu’s availability during home games
The former Arsenal, Ajax and Portsmouth FC player was appointed chairman of the nine time NPFL champions by the Governor of Abia state Dr Alex Otti to succeed the club’s most successful chairman Chief Felix Anyansiagwu
The marriage seems heading for divorce after Enyimba FC announced the appointment of Deji Ayeni as coach and Abia state Government confirmed the appointment of Emmanuel Dutch as coach
It further fueled speculation when The Abia state Government confirmed the appointment of Daniel Eke as Sporting Director after Enyimba announced the appointment of Ex international Uche Ikechuwu for the same position left by Ifeanyi Ekwueme
As of the time of this report, the Abia state Government is yet to make a statement on the escalating situation
