I
n a bold declaration, Hon. Paschal Agbodike, representing Ihiala Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, has confidently stated that Governor Chukwuma Soludo of Anambra State will secure a second term with minimal opposition. Speaking during a Thanksgiving service marking Governor Soludo’s third year in office at St. Patrick’s Catholic Cathedral, Awka, Agbodike praised the governor’s transformative leadership and dismissed any serious challenge to his re-election bid.
A Done Deal?
According to Agbodike, Governor Soludo’s second term is all but guaranteed. “Soludo has covered all areas of development—education, infrastructure, employment, empowerment, and more. No one is truly contesting against him; his second term is done and dusted,” he asserted.
The lawmaker urged the people of Anambra State, fondly referred to as Ndi Anambra, to unite behind Soludo, dismissing opposition efforts as futile. “Some pockets of opposition are running from pillar to post, imagining there’s a vacancy in Agu-Awka Government House come November 8,” he remarked, adding that such attempts were nothing more than wishful thinking.
Widespread Endorsement
Agbodike went further to suggest that Governor Soludo might even run unopposed, citing overwhelming support across constituencies and local governments. In his own constituency of Ihiala, he revealed that Soludo had already received unanimous endorsement. “In Ihiala, my constituency, we’ve unanimously endorsed him, and many other communities feel the same due to his transformation agenda,” he said.

The governor’s leadership style, which aligns closely with the values of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), has resonated deeply with residents. Agbodike praised Soludo’s commitment to progress and expressed gratitude to stakeholders contributing to the state’s advancement. “I look forward to his overwhelming victory,” he concluded.
Criticism Amidst Praise
While Agbodike and many others have lauded Soludo’s achievements, not everyone shares the same sentiment. A youth group recently criticized the governor’s administration, accusing it of adopting a dictatorial approach toward traditional institutions. This highlights the ongoing tension between modern governance and cultural preservation—a challenge that continues to spark debate across the state.
Despite this critique, Governor Soludo remains a popular figure among Anambra’s electorate, thanks to his focus on key developmental sectors. His administration’s efforts in education, infrastructure, and economic empowerment have earned widespread acclaim and cemented his position as a formidable candidate for re-election.
Looking Ahead
As November 8 approaches, all eyes will be on Anambra State to see if Governor Soludo’s second term bid unfolds as smoothly as Agbodike predicts. With strong endorsements pouring in from various quarters and visible progress on the ground, Soludo appears poised to retain his seat. However, the voices of dissent serve as a reminder that leadership is not just about delivering results but also about fostering inclusivity and addressing diverse concerns.
For now, the message from Agbodike and his supporters is clear: Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s re-election is inevitable, and his continued leadership promises to usher in another era of growth and prosperity for Anambra State. Only time will tell if this confidence translates into an electoral landslide or if the opposition can rally enough support to mount a credible challenge.
