Manchester City striker Erling Haaland has etched his name into UEFA Champions League history once again, becoming the fastest player ever to score 50 goals in the competition.

The Norwegian forward reached the milestone on Thursday night, opening the scoring in City’s clash against Napoli at the Etihad Stadium. Haaland achieved the feat in just 49 appearances, shattering the previous record held by Dutch legend Ruud van Nistelrooy, who required 62 games to reach the same tally.

At 26 years and 22 days old, Haaland is also the second-youngest player to hit the 50-goal mark in the Champions League. The only player to do it younger is Paris Saint-Germain and France superstar Kylian Mbappé, who reached the landmark at 25 years and 356 days.

This milestone lifts Haaland level with Arsenal icon Thierry Henry in ninth place on the all-time Champions League scorers list—further cementing his reputation as one of the most lethal strikers of his generation.
