Kelechi Iheanacho was the hero as Celtic F.C. secured a crucial 2-1 victory over 10-man Hibernian F.C. in a tightly contested Scottish Premiership clash.

The encounter swung in Celtic’s favour early after Hibernian were reduced to ten men in the 20th minute following a red card to Jamie McGrath, leaving the hosts with a numerical disadvantage.

Celtic took the lead in the 41st minute through Daizen Maeda, but Hibernian responded just before halftime as Joe Newell grabbed an equaliser to level proceedings.

With the match finely poised, Iheanacho emerged as the difference-maker in the second half, calmly finishing in the 72nd minute to restore Celtic’s advantage and ultimately seal the win.

The Nigerian forward, who has been in impressive form since joining the club, once again proved decisive, continuing his run of crucial goals in recent matches.

Despite late pressure from Hibernian, Celtic held firm to claim all three points, a result that keeps them firmly in the Scottish Premiership title race and level on points with league leaders.

The victory marks another important step for Celtic as they push to maintain momentum in a fiercely contested title battle.
