Nigerian reality television star and entertainer, Ojoma Sule, popularly known as OJ Posharella, has officially launched her latest single titled EKO, marking another significant step in her transition from reality television into the music industry.
Known by her admirers as the “Incredible Minister of Happiness,” OJ Posharella said her journey into entertainment has been shaped by determination, resilience and an unwavering belief in her creative abilities.
Reflecting on her experience in Nigeria’s entertainment industry, the reality star described the sector as exciting but also challenging, particularly for women seeking to assert themselves and build independent careers.
“When I started out, the entertainment industry in Nigeria was already evolving at a pace that made your head spin,” she said. “Music was going global, Nollywood was gaining international recognition, and reality television was opening up new kinds of visibility for a new generation of public figures.”
OJ Posharella explained that she entered the industry as a musician, actress, spoken-word artist and public personality with ambitions that extended beyond conventional expectations.
She noted that while the entertainment industry often celebrates women’s talents, it can become uncomfortable when women begin making independent decisions and demanding their rightful place at the table.
“The moment a woman in this space begins to make decisions, negotiate seriously, say no when saying no is the right answer, or build independently rather than waiting for someone to build with her, the energy shifts,” she said.
According to her, women have played vital roles in shaping Nigeria’s entertainment culture and deserve recognition not only on stage but also in leadership and decision-making spaces.
“We built this culture too. We sing in it, we act in it, we style it, we promote it, we host it, we survive it, and we keep choosing it,” she stated.
The release of EKO represents a new chapter in OJ Posharella’s artistic journey as she seeks to establish herself more firmly in the music industry while continuing to expand her influence across multiple areas of entertainment.
“I intend to be in every one of those conversations. Not as a guest. As someone who belongs,” she added.
