The three senators representing Osun State in the National Assembly have jointly appealed to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to intervene in the ongoing crisis surrounding the administration of local government councils in the state.
Senators Francis Fadahunsi, Olubiyi Fadeyi, and Oyewumi Kamorudeen all members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) made the appeal in a jointly signed statement issued in Osogbo on Saturday.
The lawmakers expressed deep concern over the political impasse, emphasizing its impact on grassroots governance and the daily lives of ordinary citizens across Osun State.

“We are writing to respectfully appeal for your urgent intervention in the lingering political crisis affecting local government administration in Osun State,” the statement read. “This situation has led to significant instability, and we believe your fatherly role and democratic experience can help bring lasting resolution.”
Highlighting President Tinubu’s longstanding commitment to grassroots development and democratic values, the senators urged him to mediate in the dispute, which has defied judicial rulings and administrative efforts.
“While we acknowledge and commend the decisions of the courts, we are convinced that your impartial and statesmanlike intervention, possibly through alternative dispute resolution, could bring the matter to a peaceful and just conclusion,” the senators stated.

They also called on traditional rulers, elder statesmen, and influential sons and daughters of Osun State to support the call for presidential intervention.
“As democratically elected representatives of the people, we urge all stakeholders irrespective of political affiliation to come together and prioritize the welfare of our citizens over partisan interests,” they added.
The local government crisis in Osun has drawn national attention, with concerns mounting over its effects on governance, service delivery, and peace in the state.
