The Abia State chapter of the City Boy Movement has conferred the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Benjamin Kalu, as a Partner of the Movement during a courtesy visit to his Abuja office.
The event, held on March 23, 2026, comes ahead of the group’s scheduled Abia State Youth Empowerment Programme billed for April 25, as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen youth engagement and political participation.
During the visit, Kalu was formally decorated in recognition of his contributions to youth inclusion, leadership development, and national progress.
In his remarks, the Deputy Speaker expressed appreciation for the honour and reaffirmed his confidence in the administration of Bola Ahmed Tinubu. He emphasized that the deliberate inclusion of young Nigerians in governance remains critical to sustainable national development and positions the government strategically ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Earlier, the State Director of the Movement commended President Tinubu, described as the Grand Patron, for leveraging the platform to engage and empower Nigerian youths. He also acknowledged the role of Seyi Tinubu, the National Patron, in strengthening the Movement as a vehicle for nurturing and projecting young leaders.
The group reiterated its commitment to building a network of competent, forward-thinking youths capable of contributing meaningfully to governance and national development.
It also welcomed the Deputy Speaker’s readiness to collaborate, particularly through grassroots mobilization structures aimed at promoting awareness of government policies and achievements.
As political activities gradually intensify ahead of 2027, the City Boy Movement says it will continue to focus on issue-based engagement, expanding its reach nationwide, and supporting leadership initiatives aligned with growth, unity, and opportunity for young Nigerians.
The statement was signed by Eric Ikwuagwu, Abia State Publicity Secretary of the Movement.
