Super Eagles head coach, Eric Chelle, has named Akor Adams and Taiwo Awoniyi to lead Nigeria’s attack in Tuesday’s 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying fixture against Guinea-Bissau.
Ademola Lookman will also start for Nigeria in the Group L encounter at the Estádio Nacional 24 de Setembro in Bissau.
Chelle made three changes to the side that started Nigeria’s 2-1 victory over Madagascar in Uyo last Friday.
Stanley Nwabali retained his place in goal, while Bright Osayi-Samuel, Semi Ajayi, Calvin Bassey and Bruno Onyemaechi make up the back four.
Wilfred Ndidi, Frank Onyeka and Alex Iwobi were selected in midfield, with Lookman joining Adams and Awoniyi in attack.
George Ilenikhena and Moses Usor, who both scored their first international goals in the win over Madagascar, were named among the substitutes.
Nigeria’s starting XI is: Stanley Nwabali; Bright Osayi-Samuel, Semi Ajayi, Calvin Bassey, Bruno Onyemaechi; Wilfred Ndidi, Frank Onyeka, Alex Iwobi; Ademola Lookman, Taiwo Awoniyi, Akor Adams.
The Super Eagles go into the encounter with three points after their opening-day victory over Madagascar, while Guinea-Bissau also have three points following their 2-0 away win over Tanzania.
Nigeria will be seeking another positive result as Chelle begins to shape his team for the 2027 AFCON qualifying campaign.
The match is scheduled for Tuesday in Bissau.
