Bayelsa Queens FC, fondly called the Prosperity Girls, have landed in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire, as they gear up for the WAFU Zone B CAF Women’s Champions League qualifiers. From there, the squad will head to Yamoussoukro, the official venue of the tournament, which runs from August 23 to September 5, 2025.

Under the guidance of Head Coach Whyte Ogbonda, the Nigerian champions are leaving nothing to chance. The team has been working intensely on discipline, tactical organization, and style of play in preparation for the continental showdown. A training session is scheduled before they make the final move to Yamoussoukro on Friday.
Bayelsa Queens have been placed in Group B, where they will face tough competition against Police Ladies of Ghana, ASKO of Togo, and Sam Nelly FC of Benin Republic. Their campaign begins on August 24 with a high-stakes clash against the Police Ladies.
Club Chairman, Pastor Robin Angonimi Apreala, expressed confidence in the team’s readiness, stating that the Prosperity Girls have come to Côte d’Ivoire “for real business” and are fully prepared to make Nigeria proud on the continental stage.
