UMUNNEOCHI — The Labour Party governorship candidate in Abia State, Hon. Ceekay Igara, has joined leaders and members of the party in Umunneochi Local Government Area to mourn and celebrate the life of Pa Lawrence Ukachukwu Ifoh, who died at the age of 91.

Igara attended the burial ceremony alongside members of his campaign team and other members of the Labour Party family in the local government area.

Pa Lawrence Ifoh, who lived from 1935 to 2026, was the father of the Labour Party’s National Publicity Secretary, Barrister Obiora Ifoh.

Describing the deceased as a man of enduring impact, wisdom and community service, Igara paid tribute to the late patriarch as “a hero who lived 91 years of impact, wisdom, and community service.”

The Labour Party candidate expressed solidarity with the Ifoh family, assuring them of his prayers and support during the period of mourning.

Igara said his presence at the ceremony reflected his belief that leadership goes beyond political activities and requires standing with the people during both moments of celebration and grief.

“Leadership is about being with the people in good times and in difficult times. My heart is with the Ifoh family. May God grant you fortitude, and may the soul of our hero rest in perfect peace,” Igara said.

The event brought together Labour Party leaders, members, friends and associates of the Ifoh family to honour the memory of the late Pa Lawrence Ukachukwu Ifoh and celebrate his contributions to his family and community.
