The Labour Party Gubernatorial Candidate for Abia State, Hon. Ceekay Igara, has extended warm felicitations to Muslim faithful across Abia State and beyond on the occasion of Eid-el-Kabir, using the celebration to reaffirm his commitment to inclusive governance if elected governor in 2027.
In a message released on Tuesday, Igara drew a parallel between the spirit of sacrifice at the heart of the Islamic festival and the quality of leadership he says Abia State urgently needs.
“The festival of Eid-el-Kabir reminds us all, regardless of faith, that when we commit to something greater than ourselves, blessings follow. That same spirit of sacrifice is what Abia State needs today: leaders who will lay down personal comfort for the good of every man, woman, and child in this land,” he said.
Igara spoke directly to Abia’s Muslim community, describing their prayers as vital to the state’s future and promising that a government under his watch would treat them not as outsiders but as full stakeholders in the development of the state.
“Your businesses will thrive. Our children will go to school in safety. Your rights will be respected and your contributions honoured. A Ceekay Igara administration will govern for every Abian,” he stated.
The governorship hopeful also used the message to deliver a political charge, urging Muslim residents yet to obtain their Permanent Voter Cards to register without delay and to use their votes purposefully in the 2027 general elections.
He closed with a prayer for the state, expressing hope that Allah would accept the sacrifices of the faithful and grant Abia the leadership it has long deserved.
