Former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, has said he will not seek revenge against anyone who has wronged or injured him despite what he described as injustices he has suffered.
El-Rufai stated that he would rather leave such matters to God than pursue personal retaliation against those who, according to him, had benefited from his support in the past.
The former governor made the remarks in a statement published on Thursday amid ongoing political developments involving him and former associates.
El-Rufai said his decision not to retaliate was deliberate, stressing that he would not allow perceived injustices to dictate his conduct.
He also reflected on relationships with people he had supported, suggesting that some had subsequently turned against him.
Despite the grievances he referenced, the former Kaduna governor maintained that revenge was not his chosen response.
His comments come amid renewed political conversations surrounding his relationship with former political allies and the direction of opposition politics ahead of the 2027 general elections.
El-Rufai, who governed Kaduna State from 2015 to 2023, remains an influential figure in Nigeria’s political discourse.
His latest remarks are likely to generate further reactions as political realignments ahead of 2027 continue to unfold.
