Emeka Atuma Reaffirms Commitment to Quality Representation, Youth and Women Empowerment

Rt hon Emeka Atuma has reaffirmed his commitment to give quality representation and speeding up development across Abia central Senatorial District, declaring that investing in youths, women and traditional institutions remain his priorities.

The former federal lawmaker who represented the Ikwuano/Umuahia federal constituency and APC senatorial candidate Abia central for 2027 general election made the pledge while expressing gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC), party stakeholders, members of the Kabila movement, and the people of Abia Central for their continued support ahead of the 2027 general election.

Atuma said the confidence reposed in him by the party and the people would inspire him to continue delivering effective representation, people-centred legislation, and impactful development projects across the senatorial district.

Reflecting on his years in public service, the former lawmaker said his representation has been driven by the desire to improve the quality of life of his constituents through strategic legislation, infrastructure development, education, healthcare, economic empowerment, and job creation.

He noted that between 2003 and 2007 at the federal House of Representative, he has sponsored many bills addressing key national and local issues.

Beyond legislation, Atuma said his office attracted many road projects across the three local government areas of Ikwuano/Umuahia federal constituency, significantly improving connectivity and access within the constituency.

According to him, education has remained a priority, with the renovation and construction of many schools, alongside the distribution of desks, instructional materials and school uniforms, to pupils across communities.

He added that even after leaving the office, he remains present in his constituency, working with traditional rulers, youths, women and professionals. In fact, he believes that leadership is a continuous responsibility, not a seasonal activity. He further noted that thousands of women and youths have benefited from empowerment programmes through the distribution of business tools, equipment, and support materials, while intervention projects have also been executed in communities affected by erosion and flooding.

Atuma said the achievements recorded so far reinforce his belief that purposeful leadership should be measured by tangible improvements in the lives of the people rather than empty promises.

Looking ahead, the former lawmaker pledged that if given the opportunity to serve the people of Abia Central, he would consolidate on the gains already made by strengthening good representation, attracting more development projects, expanding educational opportunities, improving healthcare delivery, creating more jobs, supporting agriculture, enhancing infrastructure, empowering women and youths, and building stronger partnerships for real development.

He maintained that no nation can achieve meaningful progress without investing in its young people and women, describing both groups as the driving force behind economic growth, innovation, and national prosperity.

Rt Hon Emeka Atuma thanked the people of Abia central and APC members for their continued confidence and assured them of greater commitment to service, development, and inclusive growth.
