Abia State Governor, Dr. Alex Otti, is set to formally welcome former Secretary to the State Government, Chief Ralph Egbu, alongside hundreds of his supporters and other political stakeholders from Ukwa West, into the Labour Party.
The reception is billed for Friday at Obehe Central School, Ukwa West LGA, starting at 11:00 a.m.

Speaking ahead of the event, Chief Egbu expressed joy over his decision to align with Governor Otti and the Labour Party, citing the governor’s numerous people-focused projects across the state, including Ukwa West.
“I am happy to join Governor Alex Otti in the Labour Party. My decision is based on the numerous achievements and people-oriented projects of the Governor spread across the state,” Egbu stated.
A veteran journalist and former editor of leading national newspapers, Egbu praised Otti’s administration as exceptional.
“His Excellency has within two years in office demonstrated uncommon capacity to deliver in virtually all sectors of the economy,” he added.
Chief Egbu, who previously served as Commissioner for Information twice and as Chief Press Secretary to both military and civilian governors in Abia, said he was ready to contribute his wealth of experience to strengthen the Otti-led administration.
