Abia State Governor, Dr. Alex Otti, on Saturday officially received former Deputy Governor, Rt. Hon. Ude Okochukwu, into the Labour Party, just days after his exit from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
The reception, which took place in Nkporo, Ohafia Local Government Area, was held at the request of the Acting National Chairman of the Labour Party, Senator Nenadi Usman Yusuf, who urged a grand welcome for Okochukwu.
In his address, Sir Okochukwu stated that his decision to join the Labour Party was inspired by Governor Otti’s performance and the transformative leadership witnessed in Abia State. He highlighted that his long-standing experience in politics positioned him to appreciate the Governor’s efforts.

The event attracted notable dignitaries including Deputy Governor, Chief Ikechukwu Emetu; former Secretary to the State Government, Eme Okoro; former Ohafia Local Government Chairman, Comrade O’Brien Iroh; Kalu Anthony; Adaeze Iroegbu; members of the Etitiama-Nkporo Women, as well as other political stakeholders and community leaders.
