The House of Representatives has approved President Bola Tinubu’s state of emergency proclamation in Rivers State through a voice vote, with 243 members in attendance.
In addition to adopting the proclamation, the House made key recommendations, including the establishment of a national committee to restore peace in the state.
Lawmakers also proposed that the National Assembly take over the functions of the Rivers Stat
e House of Assembly for six months.
