LABOUR PARTY

The Labour Party Nigeria has declared its readiness to position itself as the platform for what it describes as a national rebirth ahead of the 2027 general elections.

In a statement issued by Aju Elumelu-James, Special Adviser on Media and Strategic Communication to embattled National Chairman Julius Abure, the party said Nigerians are increasingly united in their demand for accountable leadership and a break from the current cycle of economic hardship and insecurity.

According to the party, its vision is rooted in a people-driven movement that prioritizes workers, youths, entrepreneurs, and farmers groups it described as the true backbone of the nation’s economy and democratic future.

The statement emphasized that the party’s ideology departs from what it termed “elite-driven governance,” instead promoting inclusivity, grassroots development, and policies that directly impact ordinary citizens.

Outlining its policy direction, the Labour Party said it intends to rebuild Nigeria’s middle class by improving workers’ welfare, boosting purchasing power, and reviving economic productivity. It also pledged to strengthen transparency and accountability across public institutions as part of a broader anti-corruption agenda.

On security, the party stressed the need to reinforce state institutions to better protect lives and property, restore public confidence, and ensure nationwide stability.

Describing the current moment as a defining period in Nigeria’s history, the party called on citizens to embrace what it termed a collective opportunity to rebuild the country on the principles of justice, equity, and shared prosperity.

It concluded by reaffirming its belief that a “new Nigeria” is achievable through unity, courage, and sustained commitment to responsible governance.
