Former Big Brother Naija winner, Mercy Eke, has revealed that participating in the reality television show is one of her biggest regrets, saying the fame that followed has made it difficult for her to settle down in marriage.
The reality TV star made the revelation during a conversation, where she admitted that although the show transformed her life and career, it also came with personal sacrifices she never anticipated.
According to Mercy, being constantly in the public eye has complicated her relationships and made it increasingly difficult to find a suitable life partner.
She noted that many people approach her with preconceived notions because of her celebrity status, making it challenging to build genuine relationships based on trust and understanding.
The entrepreneur and actress said she sometimes wishes she had lived a more private life, suggesting that anonymity may have made it easier for her to marry.
Despite her regrets, Mercy acknowledged that Big Brother Naija opened doors to numerous opportunities, helping her build a successful career, establish businesses, and become one of Nigeria’s most recognizable reality television personalities.
Mercy Eke made history in 2019 as the first woman to win the Big Brother Naija reality show and has since remained one of the franchise’s most successful alumni, with thriving ventures in entertainment, real estate and entrepreneurship.
