A heartwarming reunion unfolded in Aba as nine-year-old Miracle Ehada was reunited with his father, Mr. Sunday Ehada, after being missing for two years. The emotional moment marked the end of a long and painful journey filled with uncertainty and despair.
Miracle went missing on November 14, 2023, after accompanying his brother to the market. According to the young boy, his brother had briefly stepped away to ease himself, only to return and find Miracle gone.
Recounting his ordeal, Miracle revealed that he was taken by an unknown individual who promised to bring him back after buying fuel. However, he soon found himself in an unfamiliar place.

After two years, Miracle was found wandering along Over Rail Cemetery Road in Aba by a kind-hearted stranger who took him to Enyimba TV and Radio Limited. There, the boy provided crucial information about his family, including his father’s name and the names of his siblings.
The station’s interview with Miracle went viral, eventually catching the attention of Child protection network Nigeria Abia state chapter. The agency escalated the matter to its Benue branch, which traced Mr. Sunday Ehada to the location mentioned by Miracle.

Filled with joy and relief, Mr. Ehada, a police officer, arrived in Aba on Saturday to reunite with his son. The scene was heart-rending as Miracle eagerly embraced his father.
“I almost lost hope completely, I was at the verge of loosing my mind because it was hard, ” Mr. Ehada confessed. “After my wife broke the news of his disappearance when I returned from work, I reported to NAPTIP and other relevant agencies. For a year, there was no breakthrough, and I feared the worst had happened but thank God.”
Miracle’s joy was palpable as he spoke excitedly about reuniting with his mother and siblings, who he had spoken to over the phone and were eagerly awaiting his return.

Expressing his profound gratitude, Mr. Ehada praised the journalists of the media houses in Aba that took the story especially Enyimba TV and Radio Limited for their role in reconnecting him with his son. He extended special thanks to High Chief Tony Agbanyim, who led the search efforts.
“Mr Tony is an exemplary leader worthy of emulation. I can’t thank Him alot,His dedication and compassion as I was told and I saw as I came made this miracle possible,” Mr. Ehada said.
Miracle was formally handed over to his father at the Nigeria Police Division Eziama, where the case was initially reported upon his discovery.

The Abia state coordinator of Child protection network Nigeria, Ambassador Onyiyechi Nwosu while speaking to newsmen said it was a great day for them for the success achieved by the agency

“Today is a special day for us at the agency, child protection network was founded by UNICEF in conjunction with the ministry of ministry of women affairs to see to the affairs of children and commended the video for carrying the necessary details that helped them with the family tracing to locate the parents”
She thanked the Journalist involved and the Nigerian police for all their efforts in making this possible.
