Rangers International technical adviser, Fidelis Ilechukwu, has declared that his side is fully prepared to compete for the Nigeria Premier Football League title as the season enters a decisive phase.
Speaking ahead of their upcoming fixtures, the coach maintained that the Flying Antelopes possess the mentality, discipline, and quality required to sustain their title challenge.
Rangers have enjoyed an impressive run of form in recent weeks, losing just once in their last 11 matches, a streak that has propelled them firmly into contention for the league crown.
The Enugu-based side currently sits among the top contenders, closely trailing league leaders with several matches left to play this season.
Ilechukwu, however, insisted that his team would approach the title race without unnecessary pressure.
“We don’t want to be under pressure because of the league. We take it one game at a time,” he said.
The coach attributed the team’s resurgence to improved structure, discipline, and tactical organisation, noting that his recent experience at the international level has positively influenced his approach.
According to him, the players have shown the right attitude and understanding needed to compete at the highest level.
“They have the character, the capacity, and they understand what it takes to win. For me, we are always ready,” Ilechukwu added.
Despite acknowledging the strength of rivals such as Rivers United, the Rangers boss maintained that the title race remains open and unpredictable.
Rangers, who won the 2023/24 NPFL title under Ilechukwu, are now pushing to secure another league triumph as the season approaches its climax.
With the campaign entering its final stretch, the Flying Antelopes are expected to intensify their push as they aim to reclaim domestic glory.
