Stanley Nwabali

Super Eagles goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali has dismissed reports linking him with a return to the Nigeria Premier Football League, insisting the claims are unfounded.

The shot stopper, who recently parted ways with Chippa United, has been the subject of widespread speculation over his next move, with some reports suggesting a possible switch back to the domestic league.

However, Nwabali made it clear that there is no truth to such claims, stating that he has not received any concrete offer from NPFL clubs and remains focused on his career options abroad.

The 29 year old goalkeeper has been without a club since leaving the South African side earlier this year, a development that has fueled transfer rumours across different leagues, including Europe and the Middle East.

Despite the uncertainty surrounding his future, sources close to the player insist that discussions are ongoing, and a decision on his next destination is expected in due course.

Nwabali rose to prominence after his impressive performances for Nigeria at the Africa Cup of Nations, where he established himself as the country’s first choice goalkeeper.

His latest clarification is expected to put to rest speculation about an immediate return to the NPFL, as he continues to weigh options for the next phase of his career.
