Speaking during an appearance on Arise TV’s Prime Time on Monday, Abdullahi asserted that Obi remains an integral part of the ADC-led political coalition and warned that any shift back to the PDP would be a risky and potentially damaging move for the former Anambra governor.
“Let me state it clearly—Peter Obi is in the coalition,” Abdullahi said firmly. “Despite all the speculation, he remains committed. In fact, it’s interesting to see that PDP has only started making moves now, and this seems to have been prompted by ADC’s growing influence and presence.”
Abdullahi also took a swipe at the PDP, suggesting that the party is not in a position to offer Obi a viable political platform. “Everyone knows that the PDP’s fate is tightly controlled by the ruling party,” he said. “Peter Obi, more than anyone else, understands the political risk involved in returning to PDP. He cannot afford to take that gamble.”

The remarks come amid reports that the PDP is actively seeking to persuade Obi to return to its fold ahead of the next election cycle. However, ADC’s latest declaration signals a firm stance within the coalition to retain Obi’s loyalty and maintain a unified front against both the PDP and the ruling party.
