Mohamed Salah has cast serious doubt over his Liverpool future after expressing deep frustration about being benched for three consecutive matches. Speaking after the 3-3 draw at Leeds, he said the club had “thrown [him] under the bus” and suggested someone within Liverpool “doesn’t want [him] in the club.”

Salah admitted he was stunned to be left out again and not brought on, despite everything he believes he has given the team. He claimed promises made to him in the summer haven’t been kept, and revealed that his previously strong relationship with manager Arne Slot has suddenly collapsed. “It was a very good relationship, and now there is no relationship at all,” he said.

With AFCON beginning on December 15, Salah hinted that next weekend’s Brighton match could be his last in a Liverpool shirt. He has invited his family because he “doesn’t know what will happen next,” especially amid links to a January move to the Saudi Pro League.

“In football you never know,” he added. “I don’t accept this situation. I’ve done so much for this club.”
