President Bola Tinubu has reassured residents of the South-West that the Federal Government is intensifying efforts to tackle insecurity and secure the safe return of schoolchildren and teachers abducted in Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State.

The President gave the assurance through the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, George Akume, during the commissioning of the remodelled and expanded Premier Hotel in Ibadan.

Tinubu said the Federal Government was deploying all available resources, including collaboration with relevant partners, to combat banditry, kidnapping, and other violent crimes across the country.

He assured residents that the safety of Nigerians remains a top priority and reiterated the government’s commitment to securing the release of all persons currently in captivity.

The President noted that security agencies have continued to receive the support required to protect lives and property and preserve the country’s territorial integrity.

The reassurance comes amid growing concerns over insecurity in parts of the South-West following the abduction of pupils and teachers in communities within Oriire Local Government Area.

Tinubu maintained that his administration would not relent in its efforts to defeat criminal elements and restore peace and stability across the country.
