Manchester United defender Harry Maguire has signed a new one-year contract at Old Trafford, with an option to extend for a further 12 months. His previous deal had been set to expire at the end of the current season.
The 33-year-old’s extension follows a period of improved performances at club level. His form has also been recognized internationally, earning him a recall to the England squad for the March fixtures.
Maguire featured in both matches during the international break, strengthening his chances of being considered for the upcoming World Cup squad under manager Thomas Tuchel.
At club level, he has been a consistent presence in the starting lineup since Michael Carrick took charge in January. His leadership at the back has contributed to a noticeable turnaround in results.
Manchester United have lost just one of their last 10 matches, climbing to third place in the Premier League standings during that run.
Speaking after signing the new deal, Maguire expressed pride in continuing with the club, stating that representing Manchester United remains a significant honour for him and his family.
